What Skillspad does well
- Built for Ghanaian creators, with cedi pricing and mobile money payouts.
- Cheap mobile money withdrawals: GH₵ 1, and free on the Business plan.
- Course video hosting on paid plans, with monthly playback minutes, so you don't need YouTube or Vimeo.
- Many product types: courses, coaching programmes, ebooks, templates, playbooks, communities and webinars.
- A marketplace where buyers can browse products, and an affiliate programme.
- Help moving from Selar, including guides for listing on both.
Where it costs more
The free plan is expensive per sale. On Launch you pay 10% plus about 2% processing. On a GH₵ 100 course that's about GH₵ 12 per sale. The fee only comes down once you pay a monthly subscription, and course uploads, email marketing and video hosting also need a paid plan.
Lower fees need a big monthly plan. To get to 5% you pay GH₵ 450 a month, and to 4% you pay GH₵ 890 a month.
Skillspad vs Paylead: what you pay
Paylead charges 4% + GH₵ 1 per sale on every plan, free plan included, with processing already included. Withdrawals are GH₵ 5.
| Monthly sales | Skillspad Launch (free) | Skillspad Grow (GH₵ 230 a month) | Paylead Starter (free) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 sales of GH₵ 100 | About GH₵ 240 | About GH₵ 390 | GH₵ 100 |
| 100 sales of GH₵ 100 | About GH₵ 1,200 | About GH₵ 1,030 | GH₵ 500 |
Skillspad figures add the platform fee and about 2% processing, plus the plan price for Grow. Withdrawal fees are not included: they are lower on Skillspad (GH₵ 1 to MoMo) than on Paylead (GH₵ 5).
When Skillspad can work out cheaper: if you sell large volumes on the Business plan, make many small withdrawals, and need video hosted on the platform.
What Paylead adds
- The same low fee on the free plan, so you don't need a subscription to sell cheaply.
- More than courses: physical products with pay on delivery, bookings, services, webinars, subscriptions, payment links and invoices.
- AI sales pages and funnels, order bumps, upsells, cart reminders and A/B tests.
- Email, SMS and WhatsApp to your customers from one dashboard.
Where Skillspad is ahead: Paylead doesn't host course video itself. Lessons link to videos you host elsewhere, such as unlisted YouTube or Vimeo. And Skillspad's mobile money withdrawals are cheaper.

Verdict
Skillspad is a solid, Ghana-built choice for course creators who will grow into a paid plan and want video hosting and cheap MoMo payouts. If you're starting out, sell more than courses, or don't want a monthly bill before you've made sales, Paylead's flat 4% + GH₵ 1 on the free plan costs less on most volumes.
