Selar charges a transaction fee on every sale, on every plan, and the fee depends on the currency of the sale. Selar's own materials list 5% + GH₵ 1 for sales in Ghana cedis. On a GH₵ 100 sale that is GH₵ 6, so you keep GH₵ 94. Selar's pricing page is the source of truth, so check it before you rely on any figure here.
This is as of October 2026. We read Selar's pricing page and blog; some parts of the pricing page would not load for us, so we flag what we could not confirm.
How much does Selar charge per sale?
Selar's pricing page says there is a small transaction fee on every sale on any plan, and that the fee varies by the currency of your sale. The figures we could confirm:
| Currency | Fee | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Ghana cedis (GHS) | 5% + GH₵ 1 | Selar's own blog posts; confirm on the live pricing page |
| Nigerian naira (NGN) | 4% + NGN 50 | Selar's pricing page |
| Other currencies | Check their site | Rates differ by currency |
One Selar comparison post also mentions processing fees running higher for some currencies. If you sell in dollars or other currencies, read the pricing page for your own currency.
Selar also lets sellers pass the transaction fee on to customers, so the seller receives the full listed price. The buyer then pays the price plus the fee.
Does Selar charge a monthly fee?
Selar has plans, and its pricing page lists features such as free wallet withdrawals as part of its Starter plan, for NGN at least. Plan prices and what each plan includes can change, so check their site for current pricing.
How much does Selar charge to withdraw?
We could not find a clearly published withdrawal fee for cedi wallets. Selar's pricing page lists free wallet withdrawals (for NGN, with more currencies planned) as a Starter plan feature. Its blog says you can withdraw to a bank account or mobile money once the money is in your wallet. If you sell in cedis, ask Selar support or check your dashboard for the withdrawal fee and the payout timing before you plan around them.
A worked example on a GH₵ 100 sale
| Selar (5% + GH₵ 1, verify) | Paylead (4% + GH₵ 1) | |
|---|---|---|
| Sale price | GH₵ 100 | GH₵ 100 |
| Fee | GH₵ 6 | GH₵ 5 |
| You keep | GH₵ 94 | GH₵ 95 |
| Withdrawal fee | Check their site | GH₵ 5 per withdrawal, from GH₵ 50 |
And on 50 sales of GH₵ 100 each in a month:
| Selar (verify) | Paylead | |
|---|---|---|
| Fees | GH₵ 300 | GH₵ 250 |
| You keep | GH₵ 4,700 | GH₵ 4,750 |
The gap is about GH₵ 1 per sale. That is real money at volume, but it is not the only factor. What you sell, who your buyers are and how you market matter more.
Which is cheaper in practice?
On a GH₵ 100 sale, Paylead's 4% + GH₵ 1 is GH₵ 1 less than the 5% + GH₵ 1 listed for Selar. On a GH₵ 500 sale, it is GH₵ 21 against GH₵ 26. Both let the buyer cover the fee. Paylead's Starter plan is free, with Pro at GH₵ 149 a month and Business at GH₵ 399, for things like removing branding, WhatsApp automations and your own domain.
Paylead's fee includes payment processing. Online payments are 4% + GH₵ 1 on every plan. Pay on delivery for physical products is 2% + GH₵ 1. If you withdraw once a week, the GH₵ 5 withdrawal fee adds about GH₵ 20 a month, so withdraw in bigger amounts when you can. See payouts and withdrawals.
Should you switch from Selar?
Not just for GH₵ 1 a sale. Switch if you want to sell more than digital products, such as physical goods with pay on delivery, webinars, bookings or subscriptions, or if you want sales pages, order bumps and email follow-ups in one place. If you do switch, the Switch from Selar page shows how, and our Selar alternatives guide compares other options. You can also see how it stacks up in Selar vs Gumroad.
