What Selfany does well

  • Selling across borders. More than 135 currencies, with a strong pitch around FX and getting paid from buyers abroad.
  • No monthly fee, and you choose who pays the transaction fee.
  • Many ways to earn: courses, digital and physical products, services and bookings, event tickets with tiers, invoices and tips.
  • Spaces, a free community product with profiles, classrooms, leaderboards and affiliates, positioned as a replacement for Telegram and WhatsApp groups.
  • A mobile app, and selling through a Telegram bot, according to its App Store listing.

Where Selfany costs Ghanaian sellers more

The fee on cedi sales is high. 6% + GH₵ 3 is one of the highest fees for cedi sales among the platforms we've compared. The fixed GH₵ 3 hurts most on low-priced products:

Price Selfany fee (6% + GH₵ 3) Share of the price
GH₵ 20 GH₵ 4.20 21%
GH₵ 50 GH₵ 6 12%
GH₵ 100 GH₵ 9 9%
GH₵ 500 GH₵ 33 6.6%

Standard payouts outside naira take 4 to 5 working days. Same-day payouts are offered as "Flex payouts". Check in your dashboard whether there's a charge for them.

Mobile money for Ghanaian buyers isn't spelled out on the pages we read. Most buyers in Ghana pay with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money, so check the checkout your buyers will see.

Selfany vs Paylead: what you pay

Paylead charges 4% + GH₵ 1 per sale on every plan, free plan included, with processing included. Withdrawals to MoMo or bank cost GH₵ 5 and arrive the next working day.

Selfany Paylead
Fee on a GH₵ 50 sale GH₵ 6 GH₵ 3
Fee on a GH₵ 100 sale GH₵ 9 GH₵ 5
Fees on 50 sales of GH₵ 100 GH₵ 450 GH₵ 250

That's GH₵ 200 a month more on Selfany at this volume, or GH₵ 2,400 a year, before any payout charges. Selfany's withdrawal fees aren't listed on its payouts page, so they aren't included here.

What Paylead adds for sellers in Ghana

  • A lower fee on every cedi sale, and the fixed part is GH₵ 1, not GH₵ 3, which matters a lot on GH₵ 20 to GH₵ 50 products.
  • Mobile money at checkout, built for Ghanaian buyers: MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, Visa and Mastercard.
  • Pay on delivery for physical products, with waybills and tracking.
  • AI sales pages and funnels, order bumps, upsells, A/B tests, and cart reminders by SMS and email.

Where Selfany is ahead: selling in many currencies to buyers worldwide, same-day Flex payouts, and a free community product with classrooms and leaderboards.

Verdict

Selfany is built for creators who sell across borders and want one account for many currencies, plus a free community space. For sellers whose buyers are mostly in Ghana, the 6% + GH₵ 3 fee on cedi sales costs nearly twice as much as Paylead on a GH₵ 100 product, and more than twice as much on cheaper ones.
