A payment link is the quickest way to get paid in Ghana for anything that isn't a ready-made product: a deposit, a custom order, a service, a ticket or a contribution. You send a link on WhatsApp, the customer taps it, pays by MoMo or card, and the money is confirmed without a screenshot.
Going into 2027, almost every payment company offers some kind of link. They differ a lot on fees, on how quickly you get your money, and on what you can do after the payment comes in. This guide compares six options.
Fees were checked on each company's own website in October 2026. Fees change, so check the pricing page before you decide.
What to look for in a payment link app
- Mobile money for the payer. MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money, not just cards.
- Fixed or open amounts. A fixed price for a ticket, an amount the payer types for a donation or a part payment.
- Limits and expiry dates, so a link for 40 workshop seats stops at 40 and a link for Saturday's event stops on Saturday.
- A QR code you can print for your shop counter or stall.
- The payer's details, so you know who paid for what without asking in a separate chat.
- Fast, cheap payouts to MoMo or a bank.
- Somewhere for the money to go next: receipts, a customer list, a way to sell to the same people again.

The cheapest fee per payment is not always the cheapest option. Add the payout fee, the time you spend matching payments to people, and the payments you lose because the payer gave up.
1. Paylead
Best for: small businesses and creators who take deposits, custom orders and contributions, and want the money and the customer in one place.
On Paylead, a payment link takes a fixed amount or lets the payer type one. You can make it one-time for a single client or reusable for many people, cap the number of payments, set an expiry date, and download a QR code.
- Payers use MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, Visa or Mastercard.
- Every payment lands in your orders with the payer's name and phone number, and they get a receipt by SMS.
- The same account gives you invoices, a store, bookings and email campaigns, so a one-off payer can become a repeat customer.
Fees: free to start. 4% + GH₵ 1 per payment, processing included, or turn on "customer pays the transaction charges" so you receive the full amount. Withdrawals to MoMo or bank are a flat GH₵ 5 and arrive the next working day.
Watch out for: the per-payment fee is higher than a raw payment gateway's. You are paying for the tools around the payment. If all you need is the cheapest possible transfer, Paystack or Hubtel costs less per payment.
2. Paystack
Best for: registered businesses that already use Paystack.
Paystack's payment pages let you share a link and take cards, mobile money and bank transfers. Its standard fee for local payments in Ghana is 1.95%.
- Strengths: a low fee from a trusted company, and solid tools for developers.
- Watch out for: you need to complete Paystack's business verification first. It is a payment company, so customer follow-up, receipts by SMS and selling again are up to you.
3. Flutterwave
Best for: businesses that also take payments from other African countries.
Flutterwave offers payment links and a simple store. In Ghana it charges 2% on mobile money, 2.6% on local cards and 4.8% on international cards.
- Strengths: low payment fees, and international cards.
- Watch out for: payouts cost 1.5% of every withdrawal to mobile money, or GH₵ 10 to a bank. On GH₵ 5,000 that is GH₵ 75 just to move your money to MoMo.
See Flutterwave's Ghana pricing.
4. Hubtel
Best for: shops and businesses that want money settled quickly.
Hubtel is a well-known Ghanaian payments company. Its headline fee is 1.95%, and it advertises hourly settlement.
- Strengths: local support, fast settlement, and a range of business tools.
- Watch out for: check what you can set on each link (limits, expiry, payer details) and what verification you need before you can accept payments.
5. Selar
Best for: creators who already sell on Selar and want to collect a one-off payment.
Selar is built for selling products, but you can use a product as a simple payment page.
- Fees: 5% + GH₵ 1 per cedi sale, and GH₵ 15 per withdrawal.
- Watch out for: it is designed for products, not deposits or invoices, and withdrawals cost three times as much as on Paylead. Read our Paylead vs Selar comparison.
6. Your MoMo number
Best for: your first few payments.
Sending your number costs nothing extra. But you check every payment by hand, you get fake screenshots, and you have no record of who paid what. It works for five payments a week, not fifty.
How to choose
