A coaching sales funnel takes someone from "I like your posts" to "I've paid for your program" in a few steps: free content that shows you can help, a short application so you only talk to serious people, a booked call (free or paid), and an offer at the end of the call with an easy way to pay. It replaces endless DMs with a system that filters, books and collects payment for you.
Why coaches need a funnel
Without one, coaching sales look like this: a DM, a long chat, "let me think about it", silence. You spend hours with people who were never going to buy.
A funnel does the filtering and the logistics:
- People apply before they get your time.
- They pick a slot from your calendar instead of back-and-forth.
- They pay before or after the call, by MoMo or card.
The five steps
1. Free content that proves you can help
Short videos, posts and lives that solve small problems for your ideal client. Each piece ends with one call to action: "Apply for a strategy call" or "Get my free guide".
2. A lead magnet (optional, but powerful)
A free guide, checklist or quiz that builds your email list. People who aren't ready to apply yet stay in touch. See how to build a lead magnet funnel.
3. The application page
A sales page for your coaching, ending with a short form:
- What do you want help with?
- Where are you now? (income, stage, situation)
- What have you tried?
- When do you want to start?
- Can you invest GH₵ [range] if it's a fit?
The last question saves you hours. On Paylead, the Strategy Call funnel template is built for this: a coaching page with an application form.
4. The call
Two options:
| Free strategy call | Paid consultation | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free | GH₵ 100–GH₵ 500 |
| Who books | More people, some not serious | Fewer, much more serious |
| Best when | Your program is GH₵ 3,000+ | You sell single sessions or smaller packages |
On Paylead, sell bookings and coaching calls with a calendar: clients pick a time and pay in one step, get reminders, and can reschedule from their booking page. A deposit option works too.
5. The offer and payment
At the end of the call, if it's a fit, make one clear offer and send a link to pay. Don't make them hunt for an account number. Options that help in Ghana:
- Pay in instalments: part payments.
- Monthly coaching as a subscription, with reminders before each renewal.
- An invoice for business clients: send an invoice.
Follow-up for people who didn't buy
- Applied but didn't book: a reminder email after 24 hours.
- Booked but didn't buy: a thank-you, a summary of what you discussed, and the offer again with a deadline.
- Not ready: add them to your newsletter.
Add a cheaper rung
Not everyone can afford 1:1. A group program, a course or a paid community lets you help more people and earns while you sleep. See what is a value ladder?
Frequently asked questions
Should I show my coaching price on the page?
Showing a starting price ("from GH₵ 2,500") filters out people who can't afford it, and saves call time. Many coaches show a range.
How many calls should I take a week?
As many as you can do well. If you're fully booked, raise your price or add a group program.
