How to create product bundles that sell

A product bundle is two or more products sold together at one price, usually a little less than buying each separately. To create a bundle that sells, combine products buyers already use together, give it a clear name that says what it's for ("Hospital bag set", "Glow skincare routine"), price it so the buyer clearly saves while you still make more per order, and show it next to the single products so the saving is obvious.

Bundles are one of the easiest ways to make more money from the buyers you already have. They raise your average order, help slow products sell, and make gift-buying easy.

1. Five bundle types

1. Routine bundles: products used together.

  • Cleanser + toner + moisturiser
  • Shampoo + conditioner + hair oil

2. Starter kits: everything a beginner needs.

  • "Start baking" kit: cake tins, mixer, recipe card
  • Farming course + budget spreadsheet + WhatsApp support

3. Gift sets: ready-made gifts at three price levels.

  • Valentine's box, Mother's Day set, Christmas hamper

4. Multi-packs: more of the same.

  • 3 perfume oils for a set price
  • 5 T-shirts in different colours

5. Digital bundles: several digital products together.

  • Three ebooks on one topic
  • A template pack with a video guide

2. Price bundles so both sides win

A simple rule: give a 10 to 20% saving on the combined price.

Item Price
Cleanser GH₵ 80
Toner GH₵ 70
Moisturiser GH₵ 120
Bought separately GH₵ 270
Routine bundle GH₵ 230 (save GH₵ 40)

Check your margin: you make a little less per item, but much more per order, and you only pay one delivery and one transaction fee. See how to calculate profit margin.

Digital bundles can have bigger discounts, because extra copies cost you almost nothing.

3. Name bundles by what they do

"Bundle 1" sells nothing. Name the result or the occasion:

  • "Clear skin in 30 days set"
  • "New mum hospital bag"
  • "First car service kit"
  • "Office lunch week"
  • "Freelancer starter pack"

4. Show the saving

  • Show the separate price crossed out next to the bundle price.
  • Write the saving in cedis: "You save GH₵ 40".
  • Put the bundle at the top of your store and on each single product page: "Get this in the routine bundle and save".

5. Use bundles to clear slow stock

Pair a slow product with a best-seller: a popular perfume plus a slower body mist. The best-seller sells the bundle, and the slow product gets into buyers' hands. Some will come back for it.

6. Set up bundles on Paylead

  1. Make sure each single product is in your store.
  2. Create a bundle product and choose the products inside it.
  3. Set the bundle price, photos and a description of what's included.
  4. Share the bundle link, and feature it on your store page.

Buyers pay once, with MoMo or card, and you get one order with everything inside. See the bundles feature.

7. Bundles plus order bumps

Bundles raise the order before checkout. Order bumps raise it during checkout: "Add a travel-size moisturiser for GH₵ 30". After payment, an upsell can offer the next level. Together they can lift your average order a lot without more ads. See order bumps and upsells explained.

8. Bundle ideas by business

  • Fashion: outfit set (top, trousers, belt)
  • Food: family meal for four, office lunch for the week
  • Phones and gadgets: phone + case + screen guard + charger
  • Courses: course + templates + group calls
  • Baby products: newborn starter pack
  • Events: two tickets + parking + drinks voucher

Frequently asked questions

Do bundles reduce my profit?

Per item, slightly. Per order, they usually increase it, because the buyer spends more and you pay one delivery and one fee.

How many products should be in a bundle?

Two to five. More than that gets confusing and expensive.

Can I bundle digital and physical products?

Yes, for example a printed planner with a digital guide. Make sure delivery is clear for the physical part.
