How to make an offer people can't refuse (without cutting your price)

An offer people can't refuse makes buying feel like the obvious choice. It's built from more than the product: a clear result, bonuses that remove the next problem, proof, a guarantee that lowers the risk, a genuine reason to buy now, and an easy way to pay. Most sellers try to make their offer more attractive by cutting the price. Adding value usually works better and protects your margin.

The parts of a strong offer

1. A clear result

Not "a course", but "make your first wedding cake order in 30 days". Buyers pay for the outcome. Write it in one sentence.

2. The core product

What they actually get: lessons, the ebook, the product, sessions. Describe it by what each part does for them.

3. Bonuses that solve the next problem

Think about what goes wrong after someone buys, and solve it with a bonus:

Product Next problem Bonus
Baking course "How much do I charge?" Pricing calculator spreadsheet
Wig "How do I maintain it?" Care guide + free wash after a month
CV template "What about the cover letter?" 3 cover letter templates
Fitness program "What do I eat?" 4-week Ghanaian meal plan

Good bonuses cost you little to deliver and are worth a lot to the buyer.

4. Value stacking

Show everything they get, and what each would be worth alone, before the price:

What you get Value
6-week course GH₵ 600
Pricing calculator GH₵ 80
Weekly live Q&A GH₵ 300
WhatsApp support group GH₵ 150
Total value GH₵ 1,130
Your price GH₵ 450

Only use values you could defend. Made-up numbers damage trust.

5. A guarantee

Take the risk off the buyer:

  • "Watch the first 3 lessons. If it's not for you, message us within 7 days for a refund."
  • "If it doesn't fit, we'll adjust it free."

Only promise what you'll honour, and state the conditions clearly. Many sellers find few people claim a fair guarantee, while more people buy.

6. A real reason to act now

  • An early price for the first 72 hours.
  • Limited spots in a live cohort.
  • A bonus that disappears on a date.
  • A batch of physical stock.

Make deadlines real. On Paylead, a discount code can start and end at set times with a usage limit, so the deadline enforces itself.

7. Easy payment

Raise value inside the checkout

  • Order bump: "Add the meal plan for GH₵ 40" right on the checkout.
  • Upsell after payment: "Upgrade to 1:1 support for GH₵ 300."
  • Bundle: three products for less than two. See bundles.

Before and after: an example

Weak offer: "Hair growth oil, GH₵ 120. DM to order."

Strong offer:

Grow back your edges in 8 weeks. Hair growth oil (100 ml) + free scalp massage brush + 8-week progress tracker. Use it for 8 weeks. If you see no new growth, send photos and get your money back. GH₵ 120 this week only (GH₵ 150 from Monday). Pay by MoMo on the page, delivered in Accra in 24 hours.

Same oil, same price this week, very different results.

Frequently asked questions

Isn't a discount simpler?

It's simpler, but it trains buyers to wait for discounts and cuts your profit. A bonus feels more valuable and costs you less.

How many bonuses should I add?

One to three good ones. Ten small bonuses look like padding.
