To sell farm produce online in Ghana, list what you have by unit (crate, bag, bunch, kilo), take orders and payment by MoMo, and schedule deliveries or pickups. On Paylead, each item is a physical product with options and stock, buyers pay online or on delivery, and businesses can pay by invoice.
Step by step
- Create your free Paylead account.
- For each product: Create product → Physical Product: add a physical product.
- Sell by clear units: "Tomatoes, 1 crate", "Eggs, 1 crate (30)", "Plantain, 1 bunch".
- Add options with their own prices (small, medium, large crates).
- Turn on Limit how many you can sell to match this week's harvest.
- Set your store delivery fee. In the description, say your delivery days, areas and pickup point.
- Share the store link with restaurants, shops, churches and your customers' WhatsApp groups.
Selling to businesses
Restaurants, hotels and schools buy in bulk and often pay later. Send them an invoice with a due date, and allow part payments for big orders.
Pre-orders for the next harvest
Take orders before harvest with a stock limit and the expected date in the name, or a deposit by payment link: how to take pre-orders.
What it costs
Online payments cost 4% + GH₵ 1: a GH₵ 300 crate costs GH₵ 13. Pay-on-delivery orders cost 2% + GH₵ 1. The Starter plan is free.
Tips
- Photos of the actual produce, not stock images.
- Update stock every week so buyers only order what you have.
- Text regular buyers what's ready this week: how to send bulk SMS.
