The simplest way to sell event tickets online in Ghana is a payment link with a fixed price and a limit. On Paylead, buyers pay by MoMo or card, the link stops taking payments when you reach your capacity or the closing date, and every ticket buyer appears in your orders with their name and phone number.
Before you start: what you get
- A link and a QR code you can share anywhere.
- A cap on the number of tickets, and a closing date.
- A list of everyone who paid, to check at the door.
Paylead does not issue scannable tickets. At the door, check names or phone numbers against your list of paid orders. For an online event, use a webinar instead: it handles registration, reminders and the join link.
Step by step
- Create your free Paylead account.
- Go to Payment links and click New payment link: create a payment link.
- Title it the way buyers will see it, for example "Harvest Gala 2026: regular ticket".
- Choose Fixed and set the price.
- Make it reusable, set a limit equal to your capacity, and an expiry date for when sales close.
- Turn on Collect email if you want to send updates.
- Save, copy the link and download the QR code for posters and flyers.
- For VIP or table tickets, make a second link with its own price and limit.
What it costs
There is no monthly fee on the Starter plan. Each ticket paid online costs 4% + GH₵ 1. On a GH₵ 150 ticket that is GH₵ 7, so GH₵ 143 reaches your wallet. Turn on Customer pays transaction charges to add the fee to the buyer's total instead. Withdrawals cost a flat GH₵ 5 and arrive the next working day.
Tips that sell more tickets
- Early-bird price: a cheaper link with a small limit and an early expiry date, then the regular link.
- Group tickets: a "table for 5" link at a better price per person.
- Use your list: text past attendees about the new event with SMS campaigns.
- Put the QR code everywhere: posters, flyers, the church bulletin and your WhatsApp status. People pay the moment they see it.
