To recover abandoned carts, remind people who start checkout and leave without paying, with a link straight back to their cart. On Paylead this happens automatically: buyers get an email one hour, one day and three days later, and one SMS with the first reminder if they left a phone number. Reminders stop as soon as they pay.
Why carts get left
In Ghana it is often practical: the MoMo prompt timed out, the network dropped, the buyer had to top up, or they got distracted. A reminder with a one-tap link brings many of them back.
Turn it on
- Open Store Settings → Payments: cart reminders.
- Turn on Remind shoppers who leave their cart.
- Leave Also text them once on to add the SMS, or off for email only.
Without your own Sender ID, Paylead sends these texts at no cost to you, signed with your store's name.
See your left carts
Open Sales to see carts that were left, what was in them, and which ones came back.
Recover even more
- Build your own follow-up: a workflow that starts when someone leaves a cart, waits, and sends your own email, for example with a small discount code: email automations.
- Make checkout easy: fewer surprises at the end. Show delivery fees in your product description.
- Offer pay on delivery for physical products if buyers hesitate to pay first: offer pay on delivery.
