To use your own domain for your online store, buy the domain from any registrar, add it in your store settings, and copy one DNS record to where you bought it. On Paylead this is part of the Business plan, and Paylead sets up the secure certificate (the padlock) for you once the record is found.
Why bother with your own domain
- Trust.
shop.adwoabeauty.comlooks like an established business. - Easy to remember on flyers, radio and packaging.
- It's yours. Your brand, your address, wherever your store runs.
You don't need one to start: every store gets a free paylead.app link that works on day one.
Step by step
- Buy your domain from a registrar. Many Ghanaian businesses use a
.comor a.com.gh. - In Paylead, open Store Settings → Domains & Plans: connect your own domain.
- Add your domain, for example
shop.yourbrand.com. - Paylead shows a DNS record: its type, name and value.
- Sign in where you bought your domain, open the DNS settings and add that record exactly as shown.
- Come back and check the domain. Once the record is found, Paylead sets up the secure certificate.
DNS changes can take from a few minutes to a few hours. Your paylead.app link keeps working the whole time.
Domain or subdomain?
- A subdomain like
shop.yourbrand.comlets you keep your main website where it is and put the store next to it. - Your main domain works if the store is your whole website.
What it costs
Custom domains are on the Business plan, GH₵ 399 a month, which also adds 5 staff accounts and whole-site imports. The plan gets cheaper for every month you stay. The domain itself is paid to your registrar.

Yes. Add a subdomain such as shop. if your main domain already has a website.
