Facebook usually rejects ads from small sellers for a handful of reasons: the copy asserts something personal about the reader, it promises income or health results, it uses before-and-after claims, or the landing page doesn't match the ad. Most can be fixed by describing your product and the situation instead of the person reading.
1. Personal attributes
Meta doesn't allow ads that assert or imply the reader's personal characteristics, such as financial status, health, religion, age or relationship status.
- ❌ "Are you broke at the end of every month?"
- ✅ "A simple monthly money plan for people paid once a month."
- ❌ "Struggling with your weight?"
- ✅ "Twenty easy Ghanaian recipes under 500 calories."
The fix: talk about the product, the topic or a general situation, not "you are…".
2. Income and money promises
- ❌ "Make GH₵ 10,000 a month from home."
- ✅ "Learn how to price and sell a service from home."
Avoid specific earnings, "guaranteed" results and "get rich" language. Teach the skill; let buyers decide what they earn.
3. Health claims and before-and-after images
Before-and-after photos of bodies, skin or weight, and claims that something cures or treats a condition, are restricted. Show the product and how it's used instead.
4. Sensational or misleading content
Fake countdown timers, fake "was" prices, shocking images and clickbait headlines that the page doesn't deliver on get flagged, and they hurt trust even when they're approved.
5. The landing page
Meta reviews where your ad goes. A page that's broken, slow, very different from the ad, or that hides what the buyer gets can be rejected. Your Paylead product page shows the product, the price and how it's delivered, which is what reviewers want to see.
6. Restricted products
Some categories need extra approval or aren't allowed at all, like certain financial products, supplements and some health products. Check Meta's Advertising Standards before you build a campaign around them.
What to do after a rejection
- Read the reason in Account Quality or the ad's review notice.
- Fix the copy, image or page. Don't just resubmit it unchanged.
- If you believe it's a mistake, request a review from the same place.
- Keep your next ads clear of the same pattern; repeated rejections can restrict an ad account.
Write ads that pass first time
Paylead's Promote panel writes ad copy that follows these rules: no personal attributes, no income or health promises, and only facts from your product listing. Open any product and tap the green Promote megaphone to try it.
