You post every day. People watch, like, even comment "how much?", and then nothing. Most followers aren't saying no. They're saying not yet, and on social media "not yet" usually means you never hear from them again.
A quiz fixes that. It gives followers a fun reason to tap your link, collects their WhatsApp number before they leave, and tells you exactly what each person needs, so your follow-up isn't a guess.
Why followers don't buy
- They're not sure it's for them. "Will this work for my skin? My business? My level?"
- They're not ready today. Payday is next week, or they want to think about it.
- Your page talks to everyone. The same post has to speak to beginners and experts at the same time.
- You can't follow up. You don't have their number, and the algorithm decides whether they see your next post.
A quiz answers the first question for them, saves the second for later, and solves the last two.
Why a quiz works better than "DM me"
"DM me for price" makes people do the work and talk to a stranger. Many won't.
"Which of 4 skin types are you? Take the 60-second quiz" is easy, a little fun, and about them. By the end they've told you their type, their problem and their budget, and given you their WhatsApp number to get their result.
Step 1: Build a short quiz around your buyers
For followers, keep it short: a product match quiz of about a minute, or a diagnostic of 2 to 3 minutes if you sell a course or coaching. Our step-by-step guide covers it all: how to build a quiz funnel.
The key is to pick 4 to 6 types of buyer your followers will recognise themselves in.
Step 2: Put the quiz everywhere your followers are
- Link in bio: make it the first link. "Take the quiz: find your routine in 60 seconds."
- Instagram and TikTok stories: a short video asking the opening question out loud, with the link sticker.
- WhatsApp status: "Which one are you?" with the four picture options in one image.
- Pinned post or video: explain the 4 types and send people to find theirs.
- Your website: add the quiz to a page or as a pop-up.
Step 3: Run ads that sell the quiz, not the product
Ads that say "Buy my serum" ask for a big decision from a stranger. Ads that say "Take the quiz" ask for a small one. Write hooks about them:
- "Shiny by midday? Find your skincare routine in 60 seconds."
- "Running a business around your job? Find your next step in 2 minutes."
- "Lots of followers, few buyers? Take the 3-minute check."
Write 2 hooks for each type of buyer and 3 broad ones for everyone, then keep the ones that bring the most leads.
Step 4: Follow up on WhatsApp, by type
This is where the quiz pays for itself. You know each person's type, so every message can speak to them.
| Day | Message |
|---|---|
| Day 0 (within minutes) | Their result and the link to their offer |
| Day 1 | A useful tip, or a real review from someone like them |
| Day 3 | Answer their biggest doubt ("not techy enough?", "is it worth it?") |
| Day 7 | A last nudge, or a real deadline if you have one |

Keep each message under 60 words, and only message people who ticked the consent box. One clear message beats five long ones.
Step 5: Watch where people stop
After a few days, check how many people reached each screen of your quiz. The screen with the biggest drop is the one to fix:
- A drop on a question: reword it, or cut it.
- A drop on the lead screen: ask for less. First name and WhatsApp are often enough.
- People see the result but don't buy: the offer doesn't fit that type. Change the product, or add a smaller first offer.
Don't do this
- Don't fake it. No fake countdowns, no "only 2 left", no reviews you wrote yourself. Your followers will find out, and they'll tell their friends.
- Don't ask for their number on the first screen. Earn it first.
- Don't send everyone the same follow-up. That's what the quiz is for.
Do it on PayLead
Quiz funnels are on the Business plan. Build one from a template or with the AI Quiz Architect, share your link, and every lead lands in your customers list.
- Your link works everywhere: bio, stories, status and ads, with ad clicks tracked.
- Checkout opens over the quiz: Mobile Money or card, with your order bump and after-payment upsell.
- Insights show where people stop and which types buy.
- Each lead has WhatsApp buttons that open your day 0, 1, 3 and 7 messages for their type, with their name filled in.
