Paid groups are one of the most popular ways to earn online in Ghana: forex and crypto signals, job alerts, betting analysis, study groups, fitness challenges, business mentorship. The group itself is free to create. The work is everything around it: collecting money, checking screenshots, adding people, and removing the ones who stopped paying.
Here's how to run a paid group that mostly runs itself.
The usual way, and why it breaks
Most paid groups start like this: post your MoMo number, wait for a screenshot, check your MoMo history, add the person, and write their name in a notebook. Next month, scroll through the group and message everyone who's due.
It works for 15 members. At 60 it eats your whole week. And edited "payment successful" screenshots mean you sometimes add people who never paid.
A better setup
You need three things:
- A payment page that confirms payments itself, so you never check screenshots.
- Automatic delivery of the group link after payment, so nobody waits for you to add them.
- Renewal reminders that go out on their own every month.
A subscription product does all three.
Step by step on Paylead
- Create your group on WhatsApp or Telegram and copy its invite link.
- In Paylead go to Products → Add product → Subscription.
- Name it ("Daily Forex Signals") and set the price and how often it renews, for example GH₵ 100 every month.
- Under What subscribers get, list what members get: "2–3 signals every weekday", "Weekly live review", "Members-only Q&A".
- Under Digital Delivery, choose Redirect URL and paste your group invite link.
- Save, then share the subscribe link in your bio, your free channel, your status and your adverts.
New members pay with MoMo or card and land straight on your group link. You get a notification and they get a receipt.
Renewals without the chasing
Every member gets reminders by SMS and email: 3 days before their month ends, on the day, and on the last day of a 3-day grace period. Each reminder has a link to pay in one tap.
In Get paid → Subscriptions you see who is paid up, who is in their grace period and who has ended. When someone's subscription ends, remove them from the group. Many group owners do this once a week.
Keep the group link private
Anyone with an invite link can share it. To limit leaks:
- On WhatsApp, turn on Approve new participants so you approve each join request, and reset the link now and then. Update the link in Paylead when you do.
- On Telegram, create an invite link that requires approval, or use a link with a member limit.
- Pin a message in the group asking members not to share it.
Pricing ideas
- Monthly: the easiest yes. GH₵ 50–200 is common for signals and tips.
- Weekly: good for short challenges and classes.
- Every 3 months or yearly: a discount for committed members, paid once.
You can make two subscription products, for example monthly and yearly, and show both side by side on your website with a pricing table.
What it costs
Each payment costs 4% + GH₵ 1, with payment processing included. On GH₵ 100 you keep GH₵ 95. Withdrawals to MoMo or your bank are a flat GH₵ 5 and arrive the next working day. Paid subscriptions are on the Pro and Business plans. See pricing.
